Will students be awarded the same degree to the degree in UK?

Yes, the degrees awarded in North Macedonia are exactly the same to the degrees awarded in London

Will students in North Macedonia study under the same programme structure as the students in London?

Yes, the programme will be identical and the academic content will be developed and monitored by London Metropolitan University

Will London Metropolitan University faculty be involved in the academic training offered by Skopje Met?

London Metropolitan University faculty will be giving a number of guest lectures on selected topics of relevance to the different degree programmes

Will the graduation ceremony be held in North Macedonia?

Yes, graduation ceremonies will be held in North Macedonia and will be attended by senior administrators and academics from London Metropolitan University

Is London Metropolitan University recognized in North Macedonia?

London Metropolitan University is a UK state university and it is recognized worldwide

Can I transfer to London to complete part of the degree studies?

All work completed in North Macedonia will be detailed in a transcript and all credits are transferable

Will students be able to combine studies in North Macedonia and in England by transferring from one institution to the other?

Yes, subject to meeting UK student visa regulations

I currently study at another university, Can I transfer to London Metropolitan University?

Yes, all work completed at another university of Further and Higher Education Institution will be assessed on a module by module basis and transfer credits will be awarded

What scholarships are there and how do you apply?

For the purpose of promoting the newly established partnership and as an opportunity to support talented students who cannot afford the fees, Skopje Metropolitan College is organizing a scholarship program. The details are to be announced in a special section of the website

Will the London Metropolitan Degree improve my employment prospects?

A degree awarded by a UK state university is very highly regarded by employers worldwide and it will certainly improve the employment opportunities of graduates. 96.7% of all London Met graduates are in work or further study six months after leaving the University (Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education survey 2016–17, released in July 2018).

Will I have an opportunity to be an exchange student at Skopje MET?

Yes but each case will be assessed on its own merits

How long will it take to get a decision on my application?

Our Admission Office aim to make a decision within two to three weeks of receipt of your application form, though processing times may vary depending on the time of year. Please ensure that you complete all relevant sections on the application form with accurate and comprehensive information as this will speed up the decision making. We’ll contact you in writing to notify you of the decision

What's the difference between a conditional and an unconditional offer?

An unconditional offer is a definite offer of a place on the course you’ve applied for based on your existing qualifications and/or experience. If you receive an unconditional offer, you’ve already met all our entry criteria for the course and will not need to fulfil any further conditions. A conditional offer is an offer that is subject to you achieving specified criteria, which will be outlined in the offer letter you receive. For instance, your offer may be subject to you passing your current course with certain grades or be dependent on you passing English language exams or providing suitable references. Once you’ve met all the conditions we have specified in full, your offer will be made unconditional.

What happens after I have been accepted? Will I receive letter from London Met?

Once you have been accepted to the course you will receive an unconditional offer letter from London Met. About a month before your course starts, you’ll receive a joining pack in the post. This will provide all the information you need to commence London Met courses

Is everything included in the price such as exam application form, books?

The fee covers all the additional costs including the exams, books and all the other services offered to the students.

How many hours a week will I be in timetabled teaching?

Our undergraduate degree courses operate on a modular basis, with 30-credit core and 15-credit optional modules where available. The academic year consists of two 14-week semesters and each 30-credit module lasts for a year. Students take four modules per semester, amounting to 120 credits per year. Students will have one lecture per week for each module. Lectures usually consist of two to three hours in the morning or the afternoon, or between 6 and 9pm in the evening.

Are all the lessons in English?

All the lessons, the exams and the complete communication will be delivered in English only

Will Skopje Met provide campus-based tuition in the future?

After the end of the Covid-19 outbreak the lessons will be delivered face-to-face or in a form of a blended learning at a campus in Skopje

UNDERGRADUATE DEGREES

What help can I get if I have difficulty with the work once I start my course?

The Student Liaison Team provides advice and assistance to students who experience challenges – whether personal or professional – to help you get the support you need to succeed in your studies.

They can provide information and advice relating to academic and personal support available in your local area. They also provide coaching & mentoring to help you get back on track to achieve your goals

What’s on offer here that will provide opportunities for you to develop your employability skills? Are there any connections with local employers?

Every undergraduate student automatically participates in a one month long work placement each academic year. The College has good employer contacts, and supervises and documents an appropriate student experience on placements. The College observes that many alumni are offered employment by companies where they completed a work placement

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Where can I find help for international students?

International Office is specifically set to deal with all queries related to students arriving outside North Macedonia

Will accommodation be available?

At this stage the lessons will be delivered online only so there is no need for you to travel to North Macedonia. Once the pandemic is over an International Office will guide you through the process of entering the country and will offer foreign students help in finding an apartment or accommodation in Skopje

What types of e-resources does the collection of the College/University contain?

Skopje Metropolitan College offers range of IT supports for both staff and students through the VLE (Virtual Learning Environment). The College’s VLE is based on Google Workplace for Education and it serves both as a document depository for lecture notes, attendance records and other documents, and as a supported interactive learner forum

Can I access the e-resources from home?

All the e-learning resources can be accessed from by home

Are there any other free online resources available?

Students can successfully access appropriate learning resources including texts, journals, periodicals, databases, video-and audiotapes, online resources, relevant reference materials, and manuals of effective research and writing. The College has developed a link library academic online resources including reference materials, hypertext libraries online, government references, news and newspapers, search engines and online journals.
