Based on Government’s decree regarding the COVID-19 virus and an assessment of the needs and health concerns for our students, faculty, and staff, Skopje Metropolitan College will offer a blended learning delivery of the London Metropolitan University courses from October 2020 and until the end of the pandemic. Our actions are consistent with the recommendations of leading health officials on how to limit the spread of COVID-19 and are also consistent with similar decisions made by a number of our peer institutions.
The staff working remotely will continue to monitor updates from the Government and local authorities, and will provide updates regarding the Autumn/Spring semester 2020/21.
It is a combination of a classroom face-to face and online delivery of the lessons. In practice it means that the lessons will be taught through the digital platform (Google Classroom) and additionally students can meet the lecturers face-to-face for mentoring, consultations and other forms of support. A special computer lab will be used for the additional support by the lecturers teaching from remote locations.
As reported, blended learning is more effective than purely face-to-face or purely online classes as it produces higher results in students’ achievement. It is the intention of Skopje Metropolitan College to retain this mode of learning with certain modifications even when pandemic will be over and most of the classes will resort to traditional campus based delivery
Classes offered as “online” will be taught in an online delivery mode and will be delivered synchronously—during the scheduled days and times—by using online instructional technology
The online delivery courses will require access to a computer and internet at home to take advantage of the remote learning resources. If you don’t have access to a computer, alternative arrangements may be made with your instructor in order to complete your coursework including face-to-face instructions and mentoring
Your professors will use variety of options to adapt your final exams or assessments to online instruction or classroom examination mode
